Are you an exceptional Imaging Scientist looking to join an expanding digital pathology team?

About the role
You will apply methods and algorithms for processing digital histopathology images and research new methods to advance Perspectum’s product offering in digital pathology. You will participate in collaborative research projects, develop and validate prototypes and support the translation of these prototypes into products in collaboration with a wide variety of teams.
You will apply your digital pathology expertise to analyse large datasets and support the delivery of technical information to pharmaceutical partners, contributing to the development of new services across Perspectum’s portfolio of interests. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining Perspectum’s proprietary digital histopathology pipelines.
- Researching state-of-the-art methods, algorithms and machine learning models for digital histopathology image analysis.
- Delivering digital pathology solutions to Perspectum’s clients and partners.
- Contributing to scientific manuscripts, patents and grant applications.
- Providing guidance and support on research software development to the Imaging Science team.
- Showcasing the work of the digital pathology team through internal presentations and external conferences.
- Collaborating with product management and software engineering teams on product development.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated team member with an ability to take on and complete project work. Your skills and experience will include:
- Demonstrable experience in processing digital pathology images.
- Strong coding skills in Python or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience of building digital pathology ML models and other algorithms.
- Good verbal and written communication, particularly in being able to communicate with pathologists and collaborate internally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with ability to complete projects.
- Good organisation skills.
- Evidence of an interest in biomedical research.
- Understanding of the importance of algorithmic validation.
Although not essential, ideally you will have:
- A recent, or soon to be awarded, PhD in digital pathology or a related field.
- Experience with version control tools, e.g., Git.
- Extensive knowledge of imaging science, and familiarity with related fields
- Experience in machine learning/data science.
- Evidence of research achievement.
- Experience of algorithmic testing and validation.
- A track record of working on collaborative projects in which imaging has been a major component.
This role will be based full time in our Oxford HQ offices where flexible working is available.
