Job Description

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a critical role in bidirectional scientific communication between Perspectum and its external stakeholders. The successful candidate brings substantive experience in a medical or research field related to Perspectum’s offerings, together with the ability to clearly convey scientific, clinical, and value concepts. The MSL represents Perspectum while engaging with customers, clinical investigators, scientific advisors, patient groups and foundations, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and professional societies.

Working within the wider Medical Affairs team, the MSL collects feedback on Perspectum’s products and disseminates their findings to internal research, development, and commercial teams. They help to identify evidence gaps and potential areas for improvement in product delivery, while enhancing the understanding of clinical implications across Perspectum’s research and product development.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build lines of communication with external healthcare professionals, conveying evidence-based information on Perspectum’s products and relevant clinical areas.
• Disseminate clinical and scientific insights from external healthcare professionals and other relevant sources to internal stakeholders within Perspectum.
• Develop constructive working relationships with clinicians and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across multiple medical fields, including radiology, hepatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and endocrinology.
• Represent Perspectum at regional and national conferences in radiology, hepatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, and other areas of interest.
• Contribute to conference planning, scientific session coverage, and the development of post-conference reports.
• Present abstracts, posters, and other related medical content at regional and national meetings where applicable.
• Support investigator-sponsored and Perspectum-sponsored research, under the oversight of senior Medical Affairs members.
• Contribute to the preparation and delivery of training materials on quantitative imaging and emerging clinical evidence for new and existing customers.
• Provide medical expertise to internal and external projects, including advisory boards, educational activities, and clinical studies.
• Provide scientific and clinical input to support internal team initiatives and projects, working collaboratively with fellow Medical Affairs team members.

Person Specification

Essential

• A healthcare professional with relevant clinical science knowledge.
• A demonstrated ability to engage healthcare professionals through effective medical and scientific communication.
• Experience establishing strong, collaborative work relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• The ability to operate across many disciplines, managing multiple deliverables against deadlines.
• A proactive, creative and independent approach to problem-solving and decision -making.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An organised and efficient approach to project execution.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 50%).

Desirable

• An MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, PA, or NP in a clinical science, health, or other relevant discipline.
• Prior experience in a Medical Science Liaison role, ideally relating to the introduction of a new diagnostic technology.
• Familiarity with commercial, sales, and marketing principles.
• The ability to match group capability with market opportunities.
• Experience working with clinical Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
• Experience bringing medical devices to market.
