Are you passionate about advancing AI-driven medical imaging technologies that can transform patient care?
We are looking for an Imaging Scientist II to join our growing Imaging Science team at Perspectum. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of Computer Vision, AI/Deep Learning, and Medical Physics, developing innovative technologies that support both clinical practice and pharmaceutical trials.
Initially, this role will focus on supporting a newly established programme in endoscopic analysis for pharmaceutical trials. You will help build and expand AI-based tools that support the structured review of endoscopic imaging data, contributing to robust analysis pipelines for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cirrhosis examinations.
Working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will partner closely with clinicians, product managers, regulatory specialists, marketing professionals, and technical R&D teams to translate cutting-edge research into impactful real-world solutions.
Beyond the initial programme, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to long-term projects across a range of medical imaging modalities and play a key role in shaping the future direction of Perspectum’s imaging technologies.
About the Role
As an Imaging Scientist II, you will research, develop, and validate advanced computational imaging solutions, supporting both internal innovation and customer-facing applications.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Designing and maintaining robust pipelines for processing medical imaging data
Developing and validating computational image analysis algorithms
Researching and implementing state-of-the-art methods in medical image analysis, computer vision, and deep learning
Collaborating with product managers, clinicians, marketing professionals, and regulatory experts to support product development
Supporting regulatory submissions for new medical devices
Contributing to scientific publications, patents, conference presentations, and other intellectual property generation
Working closely with multidisciplinary R&D teams across Imaging Science and Computational Pathology
Staying up to date with developments in imaging science, AI, and biomedical research
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative individual with strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent technical experience
Demonstrated experience in a relevant field such as deep learning, computer vision, or medical image analysis
Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Evidence of an interest in applying research to biomedical challenges
Understanding of algorithmic validation and testing methodologies
The ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
It would also be advantageous if you have:
A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, or substantial industry experience
Evidence of research achievement, such as publications or patents
Previous experience working in an industry environment
Familiarity with related fields such as MR Physics
